April 6th starts off the SurfskiRacing.com race season with the Narrow River. I have added the a few more races to the Series to include more flat water races and the Ride the Bull Race which I am very excited about.  Below are the races for the upcoming season. Details can be found on the Northeast Calendar Tab or Northeast Races Tab.  The Series normally starts with the Snow Row in March but I decided since that race is set up for the whaling boats and dories it was not appropiate to include in the Series due to a host of factors. Many of us will still do the race but with so many other races on the schedule that are designed for small boats and surfskis I chose to leave it off the series after speaking the Ed, the race director via email.

1. Narrow River Race-10 miles of mixed condition flat water race coupled this year with Ben Lawry’s Coaching Clinic.

2.Run of the Charles 6 mile Race-pure flat water race which is one of the biggest races in the country.

3. Essex River Race-Well attended, super competitive flat water race.

4. Sakonnet River Race-My race, on my home turf. Last year held in a gale and a complete grind on last leg upwind and up current! Who needs downwind!

5. Ride the Bull-New 8 mile Rough Water Race, Bull Point(Fort Wetherel), Jamestown, RI. Strap it on for 8 miles if you can! Exciting and challenging!

6. Blackburn Challenge-Biggest Race of the Year! Can you go under 3 hours, 2:50:00, 2:45:00, 2:30:00?

7. Double Beaver-Most demanding race on the schedule. Race around Beavertail Can. Something is always happening on this course. Training grounds for Tim and myself.

8. Nahant Race-Always hoping for some downwind.  Nice distance of 9 miles hosted by Mike McDonough.

9. Lighthouse to Lighthouse (Hosting Eastcoast Surfski Championship), one of my favorites. Series Winners presented after this race. 2nd biggest race outside of Blackburn!
