I like my watches and GPS’s and never leave home without one regardless if I am going to work, the gym, for a paddle or a run. I’m primarily interested in the time, heart rate, distance, compass, lap info, BIG display, waterproofness, and battery life. I have every generation of the Garmin series beginning with the Forerunner series 205 all the way to the 910XT. My latest Garmin is the Fenix 2 which now my “do everything watch” except when I paddle when I use my 910XT or my 310XT though I could easily use it for paddling too. I would not mind having the 920XT with that colorful display. I also have an older Polar RS 400 that I sometimes use when I am erging on the C2 since my PM3 displays my heart rate if I don’t want to glance down at my wrist. My Ambit 1 I like for running and it picks up the GPS satellites more quickly than my Garmins, however, this version does not show my average pace in the summary section of a completed run. The newer Ambits do however. With all the GPS’s available there is no reason why any racer can not kept track of their data. While most of my data is on the Garmin Connect, I begin using Rubitracks after a discussion with Chris. Rubitracks uploads both Garmin data and Ambit data to one powerful interface that has more data than I will ever use.  Occasionally I had to return a Garmin device due to a foggy screen. I also use the Garmin Virb Elite for my videos since they are very simple to operate and editing is fairly simple. I still have a GoPro 3 Black but rarely use it.  Below is the link to a wonderful website with comprehensive reviews about all the watches and GPS’s.
