I hit the major points on remounting in the video but here are the steps:
1. Must have leash, leg, paddle, body. I prefer paddle leash.
2. Pfd that fits. Mine in video is too loose.
3. Point ski upwind if you can.
4.Line up Left arm with back of cockpit. This ensures better success rate. Hold paddle in left hand.
5. Right Hand placed on gunwale with knuckles up, leaning ski over towards you to decrease distance you must clear over gunwale.
6.Legs are placed horizontal to boat and away from ski.
7.Once set up position is completed you can start the action part of the remount.
8.Kick feet, lift chest up and over the widest part of cockpit like a pushup over the cockpit.
9.Then twist butt and flop into bucket in one motion.
10.Place one foot in, leaving other out for stability. Take breath, Relax.
11. Take a quick stroke or half stroke to get ski moving.
12 Place other foot in, Relax and off you go.
13. You must be able to remount in 4-5 tries. After that you get very tired and increases difficulty and anxiety may begin to set in.
14. One or two tries should be goal and can be completed in 10 seconds typically.
15. Novice/Intermediate skis are easier to remount since more stable and offer wider platform than more narrow skis. Some skis are easier to remount than others based on a number of factors.
16. Practice, Practice and Practice
