Mark your calendars. As you will see from the video there were only a few surfskis but many C2’s. That will change for next year when a huge contingent of Northeast and East Coast paddlers will invade the waters on the Connecticut River in Northfield, Massachusetts which happens to be the home of Stellar Kayaks and Surfskis.

You don’t need many paddlers to make a competitive race. Having paddled 13 miles the day before in a tandem surfski, I was unsure of how I would do in relationship to two of my training partners Tim H and Chris. Tim H passed me after a few miles when Chris dropped me. Tim H passed Chris after he ran aground cutting the island turn too close. Chris however, reeled in Tim after a mile and put 90 seconds on both of us. I too reeled in Tim with a hard push for the last mile catching Tim at the finish line with a mere one second deficit.  Thanks to John K for putting on the race as it is now part of the NECKRA series. http://www.neckra.org/races/schedule
