Gary Williams, Race Director L2L, and I are happy to announce the sponsors for the 2016 East Coast Surfski Championships hosted by the Lighthouse to Lighthouse Race, September 17th and 18th.  Stellar Kayaks and Surfskis has been the Premier Sponsor since we began the East Coast Surfski Championships several years ago. We are also delighted to have the below sponsors as part of this event. In 2014 we had a total of 87 surfski paddlers combined, in the 7 and 14 mile races. The race obviously has the surfski class along with all other classes of boats including rowing shells, sea kayaks, sups, etc.  Registration is now open so register early and spread the word. This race will be the biggest race surfski race on the East Coast with prize money. The race was not held last year, 2015, but we are going to make up for it this year! Demo day and clinics are on Sunday the following day of the races so plan accordingly.  More to Come! Thanks in advance to all the sponsors. We could not do it without you. All info can be found on the link below.

Shady Beach, Canfield Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06885

Once again, Norwalk Parks and Recreation have made the facilities at Shady Beach available to us for the event. The wide and deep beach is flat and abuts the ample parking lot where you can leave your vehicle. There are 2 rest-rooms on site (yup you won’t have to hit the porta-john before racing), and plenty of shade under the trees that border the beach.

Note that this spot is a public park and while we occupy the best spots it will be open to the public during the event. Accordingly, as you would in any public space, lock your vehicle once you have unloaded your boat and gear.
