Like many sites, Surfskiracing.com attracts hackers and scams. They are especially fond of our classifieds section.  We keep fake ads to a minimum with an approval process but are unable to control who answers your ads.  Spam ads have a definite odd quality to them, vague and more concerned with payments than the actual boat specs.

Responders to your ad do not have your personal email unless you reply directly to them.  Below are our recent confirmed spammers

MOST RECENT SCAM – OVERPAYMENT

Scammer will send an overpayment in a bad check and then try to have you send the excess amount to them before the check bounces. Excuses range from pretending it’s a mistake to asking you to send the excess to the shipper. There is no reason for any legitimate purchaser to send extra money.
